Background and Methodology of the Guide

On a recent trip to Japan I found a guide to restaurants from a Tokyo local that was quite helpful. I saw room for improvement and thought this would be a interesting service to provide to the Upstate region where I live. Initially I plan on adding restaurants to the guide but over time I will add entertainment and attractions in the upstate. When it comes to restaurants I tend to agree with the philosophy of people like Anthony Bourdain and Guy Fieri. Good food can be expensive but it doesn't have to be. When I look at TripAdvisor for Greenville and the surrounding area I see some of my favorite places missing or low on the list and think that I can provide a fresh and unique perspective. Increasingly these days there is more and more content on the internet that is produced by AI. I remember reading the theory that the internet is dead and just a series of AI bots creating content and responding to each other. That will not be the case for this site and my guides. I will write every word and put my thoughts out there. Hopefully my opinions will resonate with you. I plan on following the old ideal of "if you can't say something nice, then don't say anything at all". If you don't see a restaurant in my guide then I either haven't gotten around to reviewing it yet, or I didn't enjoy it enough to include it. I will try to avoid chain restaurants unless they offer something novel for tourists or are exceptional in some way. Quality over quantity. If there is a restaurant that you would like me to review then let me know. I plan to continue improving and refining the guide. With time I hope it will become a valuable resource for travelers to the area and locals alike. Welcome to the guide! josh
